The Information Systems Security Management Professional (ISSMP) is an advanced certification from (ISC)² designed for experienced security professionals who manage enterprise security programs. This concentration is ideal for CISOs, security directors, security managers, and other professionals responsible for developing security policies, procedures, and leading security teams. You should pursue ISSMP if you’re advancing from technical security roles into management positions and want to validate your security leadership capabilities.

Unlike in the past, ISSMP certification no longer requires you to hold an active CISSP certification first. This change makes the certification more accessible to qualified security management professionals. While there are no formal prerequisites, candidates typically benefit from having at least 3-5 years of security management experience. Our boot camp is designed to help both new security managers and experienced leaders prepare effectively for the certification exam regardless of their previous certification status.

The ISSMP certification validates advanced expertise in security management, leadership, and compliance, opening doors to CISO, security director, and governance roles.

Our ISSMP boot camp is an intensive 3-day program (Monday through Wednesday) that comprehensively covers all domains of the ISSMP Common Body of Knowledge (CBK). Day 1 focuses on Security Leadership and Strategic Management, Day 2 covers Security Program Management and Risk Management, and Day 3 addresses Security Operations and includes extensive exam preparation. The course includes both theoretical concepts and practical applications to ensure you’re fully prepared for the certification exam.

The ISSMP exam consists of 125 multiple-choice questions that must be completed within three hours. A passing score requires correctly answering approximately 70% of the questions. Our boot camp includes comprehensive preparation strategies, including access to over 600 practice questions, sample exams that mirror the actual test environment, and our exclusive Ultimate Exam Cram session. Additionally, students receive 90-day access to domain-focused training videos and ongoing support from our expert instructors.
